Terms of Use

1. What HudHud is

HudHud is a marketplace where owners and brokers advertise houses, cars and related accessories for sale or for rent, and where buyers and renters can find them, send requests and talk to the person who posted them.

HudHud only connects people. We are not the seller, the landlord, the broker or an agent of anyone, and we are not a party to any agreement you make with another user. We do not own, inspect or guarantee any house, car or item listed, and we do not handle payments between users.

2. Who can use HudHud

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to make a binding agreement.
• You must give true information when you sign up, and keep your phone number and email up to date.
• You are responsible for everything done with your account. Keep your password secret and tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.
• You may hold only one account of each type, and you may not use HudHud if we have banned you before.

3. Account types

• Buyer & Renter: you can browse, save listings, send buy or rent requests and message owners and brokers.
• Owner: you can post listings for houses, cars or accessories that you own.
• Broker: you can post listings for clients. You confirm that you have the owner's permission to advertise each property or vehicle, and any licence or registration the law requires for your work.
• Guest: you can look around without an account, but you cannot post, request or message.

4. Rules for listings

If you post a listing, you promise that:

• the house, car or item is real, available, and yours to sell or rent (or you are allowed to advertise it as a broker);
• the title, description, price, location, photos and details are true and not misleading;
• the photos show the actual house, car or item and you have the right to use them;
• the price is in US dollars (USD) or Rwandan francs (RWF), and any extra costs are mentioned;
• you will mark the listing as sold or rented, or remove it, when it is no longer available;
• the listing follows the law, including laws about property, vehicles, consumer protection and fair treatment.

5. Things that are not allowed

On HudHud you may not:

• post fake, duplicate or misleading listings, or listings for houses, cars or items you have no right to offer;
• scam or try to cheat anyone — for example by asking for a deposit or payment for something that does not exist or that you cannot deliver;
• post or send content that is offensive, sexual, violent, hateful, discriminatory, threatening or harassing;
• send spam, advertising for other services, or chain messages;
• pretend to be someone else, or use someone else's photos or personal information without permission;
• collect other users' data, copy listings in bulk, or use bots or scripts on HudHud;
• try to break, overload or get around the security of HudHud;
• use HudHud for anything illegal.

6. Reporting, blocking and how we remove content

You can report any listing or person with the "Report" button on a listing or in a chat, and you can block any person. When you block someone, you no longer see their listings, and neither of you can send the other messages or requests.

We review reports within 24 hours. If content breaks these Terms we remove it, and we may suspend or permanently ban the account that posted it. A listing reported by several people may be hidden automatically until we have checked it. We may also remove content or accounts on our own initiative if we believe they break these Terms or the law, and we may share information with the police or authorities when the law requires it.

7. Dealing with other users

You are responsible for your own dealings with other users. Before you pay anything, visit the house or see the car, check the papers and the identity of the person, and make sure they have the right to sell or rent it. Never pay in advance for something you have not seen. Be careful with anyone who asks you to pay quickly, by an unusual method, or outside HudHud's chat without a good reason.

Prices may be shown converted between USD and RWF using a daily exchange rate. Converted prices are only a guide; the price that counts is the one the owner or broker posted.

8. HudHud is free to use

Creating an account and using HudHud is free: looking around, saving listings, chatting with owners and brokers, contacting them on WhatsApp, sending and answering buy and rent requests, and posting listings cost nothing.

We may introduce paid features in the future. If we do, we will tell you in the app and on the website before anything costs money, and you will never be charged without clearly agreeing to it first.

9. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. You give HudHud a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, show, resize and share that content in the app and in promotion of your listing, for as long as it is on HudHud. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.

10. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or on the website (My account → Delete my account). This permanently removes your profile, listings, photos, saved items, requests and chats. We may also close or suspend your account if you break these Terms.

11. No guarantees

We work hard to keep HudHud safe and running, but it is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors, or that listings, users or exchange rates are accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, HudHud is not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from your dealings with other users, from listings or messages posted by others, or from your use of the app or website — including lost money, deposits or profits. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. If the changes are important, we will tell you in the app and on the website before they take effect. If you keep using HudHud after that, you accept the new Terms.

14. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Rwanda. Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts of Rwanda, unless the law gives you the right to go to another court.
